Sucker Punch has announced the end of content updates for Ghost of Yōtei Legends, despite the online co-op mode launching as recently as March 2026. The developer confirmed the Raids update, featuring the game's final bosses, would be its last major content release for Legends mode.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends will remain online and playable after the final update. Lead designer Darren Bridges explained that the mode "finishes the story of the Yōtei Six," suggesting Sucker Punch considers this a complete experience rather than an abandoned project.

Unlike many live service games that shut down due to poor performance, this appears to be a deliberate conclusion to Legends' development cycle. Bridges expressed appreciation for players' continued engagement while noting the game has been "published in its entirety" with the final update.

He also shared insights about the development process in a recent PlayStation Podcast interview, revealing how the team approached creating this multiplayer experience for Ghost of Yōtei.
