NVIDIA is reportedly preparing the GeForce RTX 5090 SE, a new graphics card designed to slot between the existing RTX 5080 and the top-tier RTX 5090. This card is not a regional variant for export controls but a mainstream gaming product.

The RTX 5090 SE utilizes the same "GB202" silicon as the RTX 5090. NVIDIA has disabled some streaming multiprocessors (SMs) on this chip, resulting in 14,080 CUDA cores and a 384-bit GDDR7 memory interface. It will still feature 32 GB of memory, using a mix of 24 Gb and 16 Gb chips. The total graphics power (TGP) is anticipated to be around 500 W, a reduction from the RTX 5090's 575 W.

NVIDIA aims for a launch MSRP of $1,500, though actual market prices are expected to exceed this. This release could offer a more accessible, albeit still high-end, option for gamers seeking top performance, potentially impacting pricing and competition in the premium GPU segment.
