Micron Technology and Ford Motor Company have signed a long-term Strategic Customer Agreement (SCA) to secure memory and storage for Ford's future vehicles. Micron is boosting production of automotive-grade memory solutions, with capacity expansions specifically targeting the needs of the automotive sector and its extended product lifecycles.

This collaboration aims to ensure a sustained supply for critical Ford production programs. Micron's investments include scaling its advanced DRAM production at its Manassas, Virginia facility, contributing to U.S. manufacturing and infrastructure. The agreement reflects the growing demand for memory in increasingly intelligent and data-rich vehicles.

Ford CEO Jim Farley praised Micron's commitment to domestic manufacturing. The SCA is one of 16 such deals Micron has discussed, indicating a broader strategy to solidify supply chains for next-generation automotive production. This strengthens the U.S. automotive supply chain and addresses the rising importance of advanced memory for vehicle technology.
