Intel Arc 101.8861 Beta Adds Four Game Optimizations

Intel released 101.8861 Beta graphics drivers for its Arc GPU lineup, adding optimizations for four titles across Alchemist and Battlemage discrete cards plus Core Ultra processors with integrated Arc graphics. The update targets Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations, Echos of Aincrad, and Halo: Campaign Evolved.

No game-specific bug fixes accompany this release. The driver package focuses solely on performance tuning for the newly supported games, leaving existing issues unaddressed.

A lengthy known-issues list spans multiple hardware generations. Core Ultra Series 3 systems face crashes in Mafia: The Old Country, Borderlands 4, and Rainbow Six Siege, plus visual corruption in Marathon, Hogwarts Legacy, Forza Horizon 6, and 007 First Light. Battlemage cards share several of these problems and add purple corruption in Echos of Aincrad. Alchemist owners encounter similar crashes plus a Rainbow Six Siege shader-cache crash requiring manual cache clearing. Core Ultra Series 1 and 2 also report Borderlands 4 and Marathon instability.

The beta underscores Intel's incremental, title-by-title optimization strategy for Arc, but the breadth of regressions — especially on newer Battlemage silicon — suggests driver maturity still lags behind competitor stacks for day-one game compatibility.
