IceWhale has launched the ZimaCube 2 compact NAS and mini-server lineup, now available for pre-order. Built around 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake processors, the series includes three models: a base i3-1215U variant starting at $799, a Pro i5-1235U model at $1,299, and a Creator Pack with RTX Pro 2000 GPU for $2,499. The compact 240 x 221 x 220 mm chassis houses six drive bays supporting up to 164 TB of storage.

Storage options include six bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives with SATA III or NVMe support, plus four M.2 slots. Expansion capabilities feature two PCIe slots: a full-size PCIe 4.0 x16 for GPUs and a PCIe 3.0 x8 for network cards or NVMe expansion. Connectivity includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, dual 2.5 GbE Ethernet, optional 10 GbE, and HDMI/DisplayPort outputs.

The ZimaOS Plus Linux-based operating system powers the platform, optimized for self-hosted services including file storage, media servers, virtual machines, and containerized workloads. The Creator Pack targets virtualization, rendering, and machine learning tasks with its 64 GB DDR5 RAM, 1 TB SSD, and dedicated GPU. Pre-orders are live on IceWhale's website with shipping expected later this year.
