GIGABYTE has introduced the B550 X Gaming motherboard for Socket AM4 processors, targeting the recent AM4 resurgence driven by memory pricing trends. The ATX board uses 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, supporting CPUs like the Ryzen 7 5800X3D via an 8+2 phase duet-rail VRM.

The board offers four DDR4 DIMM slots, one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, an M.2 Gen 4 x4 NVMe slot with EZ-Latch design and heatsink, a second M.2 Gen 3 x4 slot, four SATA 6 Gbps ports, and additional PCIe x16 (Gen 3 x4) and x1 slots.

Display outputs include DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1. Networking relies on a 2.5 GbE interface using a Realtek 8125-series PHY, with no WLAN support. Audio uses the Realtek ALC892 codec. USB options include one 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, three 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one 5 Gbps USB type-C, two rear USB 2.0 ports, and additional headers.

The B550 X Gaming also features ARGB 2.0 headers. Pricing is expected to be well under $150.
