Amazon MGM Studios released the first trailer for Masters of the Universe, a live-action film starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man. The trailer reveals an origin story where Prince Adam crash-lands on Earth as a child, searching for his magic sword. It finally arrives in theaters on June 5, 2026.

This adaptation has languished in development hell for nearly two decades, passing through multiple studios and directors. The 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren was a critical and commercial failure. Amazon MGM, led by director Travis Knight, aims to correct past mistakes by staying closer to the cartoon's canonical elements.

The film features a star-studded cast including Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms. For fans of the 1980s Mattel franchise, this represents another attempt to successfully bring the Eternia universe to the big screen after years of canceled projects.
