Cloud Imperium Games has launched the Steam Store page for Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player spinoff of Star Citizen. The game is now set for a Q2 2027 release, shifting from its previous 2026 target. Players will enlist as a rookie in the UEE Navy during the early days of a galactic war.
The experience features space dogfights, ship exploration, and ground-based FPS combat against alien races. The Steam page highlights choices-matter gameplay, suggesting multiple endings or a morals system. Since going live, the page has already gained 18,000 followers on Steam.
The game promises an all-star cast and immersive storytelling across fighter cockpits, capital ships, and space stations.
