Federal Judge Blocks RFK Jr.'s CDC Vaccine Changes, Halting Advisory Board Reshuffle

A federal judge has blocked Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s controversial changes to U.S. vaccine guidelines and the CDC's advisory board structure. Judge Murphy ruled that Kennedy's actions, as Health and Human Services Secretary, violated the Administrative Procedure Act. The ruling specifically targets Kennedy's reconstitution of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and his January 2026 changes to the childhood immunization schedule.

Murphy's decision came in response to a lawsuit filed by vaccine safety advocates. The judge sharply criticized Kennedy's stance, noting his earlier argument that the Secretary could advise Americans to actively infect themselves with measles rather than get vaccinated, calling this position 'unreviewable' and 'unacceptable'. The ruling halts the planned ACIP meeting scheduled for March 18-19, where discussions about alleged COVID-19 vaccine injuries were set to occur.

Murphy emphasized that while science isn't perfect, it remains 'the best we have'.
