NHL Trade Deadline Moves

The Avalanche have re-acquired forward Nazem Kadri in a trade with the Flames. Kadri won a Stanley Cup with Colorado in the 2021-22 season before leaving for Calgary as a free agent. Meanwhile, the Red Wings acquired 15-year veteran defenseman Justin Faulk from the rebuilding Blues, adding experience to their blue line.

Goaltending Developments

After failing to deal him, the Panthers plan to negotiate a new contract with 37-year-old goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. The team had taken calls on the veteran netminder but will now focus on keeping him in Florida. The Sharks also secured their future in net by agreeing to a two-year extension with goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic.

Eastern Conference Activity

The Islanders bolstered their playoff push by acquiring Brayden Schenn from the Blues, sending Jonathan Drouin, two picks and a prospect back to St. Louis. Schenn had served as St. Louis' captain for the past three seasons. The Maple Leafs made two moves, dealing forward Bobby McMann to the Kraken and forward Scott Laughton to the Kings ahead of Friday's deadline.

Western Conference Transactions

The Kraken locked up captain Jordan Eberle with a two-year extension worth $5.5 million annually. Seattle also gained forward Bobby McMann in the trade with Toronto. The Wild added leadership by trading for Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno, giving him a chance to play alongside his brother Marcus in Minnesota.

Notable Returns

Cup Final regular Corey Perry is heading back to the Lightning after a trade from the Kings. Perry brings valuable playoff experience to Tampa Bay as they push for another deep postseason run.
