Wild Trade for Bobby Brink in Deadline Deal with Flyers

The Minnesota Wild acquired winger Bobby Brink from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade deadline move, according to sources. The 24-year-old Minnesota native, drafted 34th overall in 2019, brings 13 goals and 13 assists in 55 games to a Wild team pushing for playoff positioning.

In return, the Wild sent defenseman David Jiricek to Philadelphia. The 22-year-old, drafted sixth overall in 2022, struggled to establish himself in Minnesota after coming over from Columbus in a 2024 trade. Jiricek's offensive potential was weighed against concerns about his defensive game and skating ability.

The trade addresses Minnesota's forward depth while the Flyers capitalize on their wing surplus featuring players like Tyson Foerster and Travis Konecny. With Brink set to become a restricted free agent this summer, the Wild see him as a playmaker who can bolster their middle-six forward group. Minnesota has been active at the deadline, also adding Jeff Petry from Florida and Michael McCarron from Nashville as they chase the Central Division-leading Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.
