George Russell claimed pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint, marking his third Sprint pole in five attempts this season. His final SQ3 lap of 1:11.567 beat Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc by under a tenth of a second at Zandvoort.

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli qualified fifth after damaging his car in SQ1, while Lewis Hamilton managed only seventh in the second Ferrari. Hamilton trails Antonelli by 50 points in the Drivers' Championship, with Russell nine points further back.

Russell, who got engaged during the summer break, joked on team radio about being "a bit lighter" after his pole. Oscar Piastri took fourth, just 0.009s off pole, while Max Verstappen was sixth for Red Bull in his home event.

The 24-lap Sprint starts at 11am on Sky Sports F1, with points for the top-eight finishers. Liam Lawson will start ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, who is deputizing at Racing Bulls, while Fernando Alonso qualified last after straight-line mode issues.
