Joe Root praised England's bowlers after a dominant three-day victory over Pakistan at Headingley, calling it a dream start to his second spell as captain. Pakistan were bowled out for 171 on day one, with England responding with 409 to win by an innings and 103 runs.

On day three, Ollie Robinson (3-29), Jofra Archer (3-50), and Josh Tongue (3-43) each took three wickets on a worn Headingley pitch, while Gus Atkinson claimed one. Robinson, named man-of-the-match for the second consecutive Test, impressed Root with his effectiveness in the second innings despite bowling 18 overs.

Root highlighted the bowlers' ability to complement each other in English conditions, stating they don't yet realize how good they can be. After a turbulent period following the departures of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, Root emphasized the importance of the win while cautioning against complacency, noting this is just one game ahead of the second Test at Lord's.

Root also revealed he has been in daily contact with head coach Stephen Fleming, who will officially take charge after the Pakistan series, praising the constant communication and shared vision for the team.
