McLaren and Red Bull have filed intent to appeal Pierre Gasly's Monaco Grand Prix podium reinstatement after Alpine successfully overturned his pit-lane speeding penalties. The French driver moved back to third place, dropping Red Bull's Isack Hadjar to fourth and McLaren's Oscar Piastri to fifth in the revised classification.

Alpine presented evidence of incorrect distance calculations in the pit lane, which stewards deemed a significant new element. Both McLaren and Red Bull argued teams were aware of potential timing discrepancies and had adjusted their systems accordingly. They now have 96 hours to submit formal appeals with the FIA.

Mercedes is exploring options for George Russell, who fell from third to 12th after failing to serve his five-second penalty correctly. The drive-through penalty cost him dearly, dropping him 68 points behind teammate Kimi Antonelli in the championship standings.

Team principal Toto Wolff acknowledged the situation's severity while questioning whether any remedy exists within the regulations. Russell's race unraveled despite strong recovery from a poor qualifying session, highlighting how Monaco's tight constraints amplify small errors.
