Barcelona has signed Brazilian forward Kerolin from Manchester City for approximately £1.25m, setting a new record for the largest fee ever received by a Women's Super League club.

This transfer surpasses Olivia Smith's previous record of £1m. Kerolin, who joined City less than 18 months ago, had two years remaining on her contract. Barcelona prioritized her signing after losing several key players to WSL clubs this summer.

Kerolin scored nine goals in 15 league games for City last season, contributing to their WSL title win. Her move to Barcelona, who have never previously paid over £500k for a player, highlights her exceptional talent and potential. She leaves the WSL as its most expensive export.
