Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette was carted off the field Tuesday with an upper-body injury during practice. Legette sustained the injury while attempting to make a catch in the end zone, landing awkwardly on the back of his head. Trainers attended to him, and he was seen wiggling his fingers before being transported to the locker room.

Coach Dave Canales is expected to provide details on Legette's condition following practice. This injury comes as a blow to the Panthers' receiving corps, which has already lost third-round pick Chris Brazzell for the season due to a torn LCL. Legette and Brazzell were competing for the team's No. 3 wide receiver position behind Jalen Coker and Tetairoa Mc Millan, last year's Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Legette recorded 35 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns last season. The Panthers are set to begin their preseason Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame Game.
