Milan blocks NYCFC's Pulisic bid amid club upheaval

AC Milan rejected NYCFC's bid for US winger Christian Pulisic, declaring he is not for sale. The club reels after missing a second straight Champions League spot and dismissing CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, manager Massimiliano Allegri and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. Owner Gerry Cardinale insists on keeping Pulisic, midfielder Adrien Rabiot and goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

NYCFC expects higher revenues from its new 25,000‑seat stadium opening next summer, which should lift matchday income and commercial deals, giving the club a larger transfer budget. Their record purchase was Nicolás Fernández for approximately $9.3 million in July 2025. Pulisic's contract runs to June 2027 with a one‑year club option, but Milan aims to lock him down before his value drops next summer.

With former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim now in charge, Milan will press for a new deal, yet Pulisic seeks visible stability before committing. The US star has shifted focus to the World Cup, shaking off a calf strain and being fit for Thursday’s group finale against Turkey, where the United States already secures top spot and a round‑of‑32 berth. Milan’s leverage wanes as his contract slides toward 2027.
