Mikel Arteta says he's relishing the shift from hunter to 'hunted' as Arsenal begin defending their Premier League crown. The Gunners ended a 22-year wait for the title last season and face newly-promoted Coventry City at Emirates Stadium on Friday.

Arteta's side finished second for three consecutive years before their triumphant May campaign. With nine new managers across the division, including Enzo Maresca replacing Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Arsenal start as favourites.

'If you give me the choice, I want to be first, I want to be hunted and in control of our future,' Arteta said. He confirmed Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are fit to play after managing injuries during England's World Cup campaign.

Bruno Guimarães remains a doubt after being substituted in the Community Shield. Arteta also ruled out Myles Lewis-Skelly leaving despite transfer speculation, stating '100 per cent' the 19-year-old will stay committed to fighting for his place.
