New England Patriots receiver A.J. Brown said he has not spoken to quarterback Jalen Hurts since being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles in early June, but emphasized his continued affection for his former team following a joint practice in Foxborough.

"Honestly guys, none of that stuff even matters, man," Brown said when asked about his relationship with Hurts. "It's love my way. I've got a lot of love for him and always have."

Brown, who posted the two highest single-season receiving yard totals in Eagles franchise history with 1,496 yards in 2022 and 1,456 in 2023, contributed to Philadelphia's Super Bowl title in the 2024 season. He requested a trade after expressing frustration during the 2025 season, partly due to limited targets against zone coverage.

During Wednesday's joint practice, Brown was all business, catching all six targets in 7-on-7 and team drills, including a deep reception from Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. He praised Maye's growth, saying, "There's definitely been some challenges but he's very special and he makes my job a lot easier."

Brown did not find closure with his former team, stating, "It's love. I won a Super Bowl ring with them. It will always be love no matter how anyone feels. I love Philly and I will always love Philly but I'm here now."
