PWHL Walter Cup Replica Missing in Lethbridge

The replica of the PWHL's Walter Cup is missing after failing to arrive at its scheduled stop in Lethbridge, Alberta, where it was to spend the day with Montreal Victoire forward Dara Greig. The league said the trophy "did not arrive as expected" and is working with the shipper to locate it.

The container arrived empty, prompting Greig to postpone her planned public event at the Visit Lethbridge.com Arena. Unlike the NHL’s Stanley Cup, the PWHL does not assign a dedicated keeper for its trophy on the road. The missing item is a sterling‑silver replica made by Tiffany & Co.

It weighs about 35 pounds and measures 24 inches in height and 13 inches wide, resting on two rods resembling hockey sticks. Engraved with six W’s for the league’s original franchises, its base represents a puck etched with champion teams.

Named for PWHL founder Mark Walter and his wife Kimbra, the Walter Cup replica was issued to Montreal Victoire after they defeated Ottawa in Game 4 of a best‑of‑five series in May to become the league’s first Canadian champion. The actual championship cup remains permanently displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
