New York Sirens forward Taylor Girard had her suspension reduced to three games after an appeal. Initially, she received a four-game ban, which would have been the longest in the PWHL's history. The suspension stemmed from an incident on January 18th where Girard left the bench to join a skirmish during a game against Montreal.

Jayna Hefford, the PWHL's executive VP of hockey operations, made the ruling after reviewing replays. Girard crashed into a Montreal defender in front of the net. Eight players received misconducts, and Girard was the only one penalized for leaving the bench. She is now eligible to return on February 26th against Montreal.

The PWHL Players Association appealed the original decision. This reduction is significant as it allows Girard to rejoin her team sooner. The league is currently on a month-long Olympic break. This decision impacts the New York Sirens and their roster availability as they head into the latter part of the season.
