Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky is heading to Toronto, signing a three-year, $21 million contract with the Maple Leafs. Bobrovsky, who turns 38 before next season, failed to reach terms with the Florida Panthers. The Panthers instead moved to a tandem of Jacob Markstrom and Akira Schmid, both acquired via trade.

Bobrovsky reunites with former Panthers teammate Anthony Stolarz in Toronto. Last season, Bobrovsky posted his lowest career save percentage (.877) and goals-against average (3.07) as Florida missed the playoffs. Despite this, he has a history of durability, averaging five shutouts and exceeding 30 wins in three of the past five seasons.

This signing marks a significant move for the Maple Leafs, who missed the postseason last year. New GM John Chayka has been active, clearing cap space by trading players like Brandon Carlo and Nick Robertson. The team also signed forwards Jack Roslovic and Colton Sissons, signaling a busy offseason under new coach Jim Hiller.
