Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker has announced he will return for an 11th NFL season, putting off retirement plans after a productive 2024 campaign. The 32-year-old shared an Instagram post Tuesday showing himself running out of the Lions tunnel, captioned with a biblical reference signaling his commitment to another year.

Decker, the Lions' longest-tenured player, was selected 16th overall in the 2016 NFL draft out of Ohio State. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2024 and has appeared in 140 career games for Detroit. The veteran tackle had contemplated retirement late last season while dealing with shoulder pain that kept him out of the postseason.

Lions general manager Brad Holmes confirmed the team has been in discussions about Decker's future but respected his need for time to make the decision. With the new league year approaching, Holmes indicated the organization expects clarity on Decker's status within the next couple of weeks. The offensive lineman's return provides stability for Detroit's offensive line as the team prepares for another playoff push.
