After 11 months of rehab from ankle surgeries, Napheesa Collier made her season debut for the Minnesota Lynx in July. Coach Cheryl Reeve celebrated the milestone with champagne before discussing goals. Unlike previous years focused on individual accolades like MVP, Collier now prioritizes peaking for the playoffs.

Despite missing the first 10 weeks, the Lynx (31-7) led the league, driven by rookie Olivia Miles. Since returning, Collier has averaged 19.0 points and 7.4 rebounds. Her presence helped Minnesota become the first team to clinch a playoff spot on Aug. 8.

The injury occurred last August against Las Vegas, tearing shin muscles and ankle ligaments. Reeve admitted to being devastated but stood by keeping Collier in the game during an MVP race. Now, adding this dominant offensive and defensive anchor back into the mix makes the Lynx a formidable opponent as they seek their first title since 2017.
