The Denver Broncos are rewarding star cornerback Pat Surtain II with a $5 million raise in 2026 through a contract adjustment, agent Tory Dandy confirmed to ESPN. Surtain, 26, also has an opportunity to earn an additional $5 million in 2027 if he earns All-Pro or Pro Bowl honors this season.

Surtain enters the first year of his four-year, $96 million extension signed before the 2024 season. The deal initially made him the NFL's highest-paid defensive back by average annual salary, though extensions for Trent McDuffie, Sauce Gardner, Derek Stingley Jr., Jaycee Horn and Jalen Ramsey have since surpassed his compensation.

The two-time first-team All-Pro has built an impressive résumé with 12 interceptions and 59 passes defended across five NFL seasons. He earned NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024 and has been selected to four consecutive Pro Bowls since the Broncos drafted him ninth overall in 2021.

This raise signals Denver's commitment to keeping their premier defensive back long-term. Surtain's performance-based incentives maintain accountability while recognizing his elite status among cornerbacks league-wide.
