Seahawks, CB Witherspoon agree to record deal

Three-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a four-year, $132 million extension. The deal includes over $101 million in guaranteed money, making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.

The extension took longer than anticipated, partly due to negotiations for New England Patriots' Christian Gonzalez, who shares Witherspoon's agent. Witherspoon, 25, has been a Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons and is considered a key player for Seattle's defense, which led the league in points allowed in 2025. He was instrumental in the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX victory, recording a sack and forcing a turnover.

Selected fifth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Witherspoon has become a cornerstone for the Seahawks, alongside wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He is the fourth player in franchise history to achieve Pro Bowl status in his first three seasons and was recently named one of the team's 50 greatest players.
