The Seattle Seahawks exercised fifth-year options for wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and cornerback Devon Witherspoon, locking in both 2023 first-round picks through the 2027 season. The team announced the moves Friday, securing the young stars as they prepare for potential long-term contract extensions. Both players are now eligible for extensions after completing their third NFL seasons.

Smith-Njigba set career highs with 119 receptions for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025, earning first-team All-Pro honors. His option is valued at approximately $23.9 million for 2027. Witherspoon, Seattle's No. 1 cornerback, was named second-team All-Pro after recording an interception and 72 tackles. His option is worth about $21.2 million. Both salaries are fully guaranteed.

The deadline for exercising fifth-year options is May 1, and they're the first 2023 first-rounders to have their options exercised. Smith-Njigba and Witherspoon played pivotal roles in Seattle's Super Bowl victory, with Smith-Njigba posting 17 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns in three playoff games.
