Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said everything's on the table regarding quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's future with the team. Speaking from the NFL combine, Sullivan confirmed the Dolphins could explore trading the former fifth overall pick, though Tagovailoa hasn't explicitly requested a trade.

Tagovailoa, who threw for 20 touchdowns and a career-high 15 interceptions in 14 games last season, is in the second year of a four-year, $212.4 million extension signed in 2024. Releasing him before June 1 would create an NFL-record $99.2 million dead cap hit, split over two seasons if done after June 1. Despite the financial implications, Sullivan said a trade is possible but not likely.

Sullivan emphasized the Dolphins will draft a quarterback this year and likely every year though he won't reach for one just to fill a need. The team also faces decisions on safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, while viewing running back De'Von Achane and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle as critical to their future. Sullivan's first major roster moves included releasing wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, linebacker Bradley Chubb, and offensive lineman James Daniels in an effort to get younger and cheaper.
