Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte left Arizona's game against Atlanta after the first inning Friday due to left knee soreness. The three-time All-Star awkwardly attempted to turn to throw to first base while fielding a grounder by Braves leadoff man Drake Baldwin, dropping the ball in the process.

Marte finished the first inning but did not return for the second. To cover his absence, Ildemaro Vargas moved from first base to second, Tim Tawa moved from center field to first, and Jorge Barrosa took over in center field.

Marte is currently batting .251 and leads Arizona with 21 homers and 68 RBI. He has played 95 games at second base this year.
