Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte has put to rest any speculation about his future with the team after trade discussions this offseason. The veteran infielder, who signed a six-year, $116.5 million extension with Arizona in April 2025, told MLB.com he has no ill feelings about the organization's willingness to listen to trade offers.

General manager Mike Hazen confirmed he explored trade possibilities for Marte as part of efforts to lower payroll, but emphasized the talks never progressed significantly. Marte, who will gain 10-and-5 no-trade rights in April, said he and Hazen had a productive face-to-face meeting to clear the air after the trade rumors surfaced in early January. The 32-year-old star hit .283 with 28 home runs and 72 RBIs last season while earning his third All-Star selection.

Marte expressed his commitment to the Diamondbacks, saying he loves the organization and his teammates. The resolution comes as a relief to Arizona fans who feared losing one of their franchise cornerstones. With Marte now firmly in the fold, the D-backs can focus on building around their star infielder as they prepare for the 2026 season.
