As the Los Angeles Lakers ownership saga continues following Mark Walter's sale of majority control to Bob Iger and Josh Kushner, minority owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong has confirmed he will not sell his 4% stake in the franchise.

"Dr. Patrick is absolutely not selling his minority share of the Lakers," said Chuck "Tiger" Kenworthy, Soon-Shiong's attorney. "We are extremely excited about the Lakers' future and look forward to many more championship years."

The 74-year-old physician and billionaire, worth over $15 billion, purchased his stake from Magic Johnson in 2010. Meanwhile, five of the six Buss siblings are moving forward with plans to sell their remaining 17.8% collective stake to Iger and Kushner at the $12.5 billion valuation.

Jeanie Buss remains the lone holdout, contesting her siblings' decision to sell. Her legal team argues a 2017 court ruling requires co-trustee approval for any sale of Buss family shares. If the siblings proceed, Jeanie would retain just under 3% ownership and would need to acquire an additional 12% to meet NBA's 15% threshold for acting governor status.
