Johan Rojas, the Philadelphia Phillies' outfielder, received an 80-game suspension from Major League Baseball for testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug Boldenone. The suspension, effective immediately, will keep him off the field until June 25, barring rainouts, and he will lose $395,305 in salary. Rojas, 25, was demoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on August 1 and did not play for Philadelphia for the remainder of last season, where he hit .224 with one homer, 18 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases.

His career averages .252 with six homers, 73 RBIs, and 51 stolen bases in 250 games. The Phillies stated they fully support MLB's drug program and are disappointed in Rojas' violation. Rojas was also dropped from the Dominican Republic's World Baseball Classic roster ahead of the tournament.

This marks the third drug suspension under the major league agreement this year, following Atlanta's Jurickson Profar (season-long for testosterone) and free agent Max Kepler (80 games for Epitrenbolone). The suspension was upheld after Rojas' union appealed, with independent arbitrator Martin F. Scheinman denying the grievance.

Rojas would be eligible for the 2026 postseason if his suspension ended before the playoffs began.
