Miami Marlins right-hander Eiver Mosquera was suspended for 80 games Saturday after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance boldenone under the minor league drug program, the league announced. The 19-year-old pitcher posted a 3-3 record with a 4.50 ERA across nine starts and three relief appearances for the rookie-level Florida Complex League Marlins and Class A Jupiter this season.

The suspension, which takes effect immediately, marks the ninth player disciplined in 2026 for a drug violation under MLB's minor league program. Mosquera, a Venezuelan native signed as an international free agent in 2023, had been considered a promising arm in the Marlins' farm system.

The positive test for boldenone, an anabolic steroid, triggers an automatic 80-game ban for a first offense under the joint drug agreement. Mosquera will forfeit his salary during the suspension and must complete a treatment program before reinstatement.
