"It was probably one of the worst mounds I've had. It was dry. It was rock hard," Misiorowski told reporters.

Despite his complaints about the playing surface, the ace, who pitched seven innings allowing two runs and striking out 10, insisted he couldn't blame the loss on the mound. "You can't blame it on that," Misiorowski stated, emphasizing his responsibility to "do my job."

Misiorowski, who boasts a major league-leading 1.63 ERA and 195 strikeouts, requested grounds crew attention to the mound multiple times during the game. The 6-foot-7 pitcher noted that his unique stride potentially exacerbates issues with poorly maintained mounds. "I land so much further than most guys. They don't really fix that part of the mound," he explained, confirming it presented an injury risk, especially when his velocity was down during the outing.
