The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Luke Raley on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a left forearm strain, forcing him to take a break from playing.

In his past 30 games, Raley hit .173writhing one homer, four RBIs and 27 strikeouts. Manager Dan Wilson said, "He was really trying to grit it out, but it gets to a point where it's difficult, it's painful, and he wasn't helping the team at that point," adding tough decisions all around.
