Colorado Rockies pitcher Domingo Acevedo received an 80-game suspension after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance Stanozolol. The 32-year-old right-hander, currently pitching for Triple-A Albuquerque, was also part of the minor league drug program.

Acevedo joined the Rockies organization on a minor league contract on May 1, after beginning the season in Mexico. In six starts and two relief appearances for Albuquerque, he posted a 2-0 record with a 5.81 ERA. Prior to this, Acevedo made 89 relief appearances for the Oakland Athletics from 2021-2023, where he had a 4-4 record and a 4.09 ERA.

He is the eighth player disciplined for a drug violation this year. This suspension impacts the Rockies' depth in their minor league system. Acevedo's absence means a significant organizational setback as he will miss a substantial portion of the current season.
