The 2026 World Series of Poker main event has attracted 9,208 players, marking the fourth-largest field in the tournament's history. Competitors are vying for a top prize of $10 million from a total prize pool of $85.6 million. This figure falls slightly short of last year's 9,735 entrants and the 2024 record of 10,112 players.

Despite the dip from recent years, the WSOP main event has now surpassed 9,000 entrants for four consecutive years, a barrier first broken in 2023. The top 1,382 finishers will earn prize money, with ninth place securing a $1 million payout. Reigning champion Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is back, having recently secured his ninth WSOP bracelet.

Currently, Michael Rossitto leads the chip count with 770,500 chips. The event, which resumed play on Wednesday, is being broadcast on ESPN platforms for the first time in over a decade, underscoring its continued prestige in professional poker.
