Nebraska's Memorial Stadium will undergo a $600 million overhaul called "Big Red Rebuild," transforming the 103-year-old venue. The athletic department expects the project to greatly increase revenue, funded by $250 million in philanthropic support and $350 million in private bond financing. University regents will vote on the proposal next Friday.

The renovations will create a 360-degree main concourse and upgrade amenities throughout. Capacity will be 80,000, including 20,000 new chairback seats. Construction begins after the 2026 season, targeting completion for the 2028 football season. The stadium will also host year-round events beyond football.

Memorial Stadium has hosted Nebraska since 1923 with an NCAA-record 410-game sellout streak dating to 1962. Previous renovations include luxury suites in 1999 and expansion to over 85,000 seats in 2013. A $450 million renovation was approved in 2023 but didn't proceed after school leaders reviewed scope and costs.
