On Sunday, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough was stripped by Raiders linebacker Malcolm Koonce, and the fumble stood, unlike the Week 1 call.

Shough believed he was throwing forward, while referee Alan Eck cited intent in the Detroit play. NFL Vice President of Instant Replay Mark Butterworth explained the difference: in the Shough play, the quarterback lost control before his hand came forward, making it a fumble. The strip sack was the first of four straight fourth-quarter turnovers, helping Las Vegas rally from a 27-16 deficit to win 35-27.
