The Kansas City Chiefs have revealed the first renderings of their planned $3 billion domed stadium, set to open for the 2031 NFL season. Designed by Kansas City firm MANICA, the fully enclosed stadium will feature a translucent ethylene tetrafluoroethylene panel ceiling and a symmetrical, curved exterior, paying homage to their current home, Arrowhead Stadium. The new venue will seat 70,000 fans and is designed to amplify crowd noise, a key request from season-ticket members.

Kansas lawmakers have approved sales tax and revenue (STAR) bonds to cover up to 70% of the stadium's cost. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is committing $1 billion in additional development. Despite being enclosed, the stadium aims to maintain the beloved tailgating atmosphere with over 20,000 parking spots. The new facility will also double the size of the team's hall of honor and quadruple its store size.

The stadium is slated for Wyandotte County, Kansas. Beyond NFL games, the Chiefs intend to bid for major events like the Super Bowl, Final Fours, and College Football Playoff games, with the field designed for versatility, including World Cup needs.
