Michigan's Yaxel Lendeborg delivered a dominant 25-point performance as the top-seeded Wolverines crushed ninth-seeded Saint Louis 95-72 in the NCAA Tournament's second round. The 7-foot-3 center Aday Mara added 16 points, five rebounds, and four blocks, pushing his season total to 96 blocks, just one shy of Michigan's single-season record.

Morez Johnson Jr. contributed 15 points and eight rebounds for Michigan, which improved to 33-3 and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year. The Wolverines matched their program record for victories set during their 2018 Final Four run. Michigan's size and depth overwhelmed Saint Louis, holding the Billikens to just 10-of-32 from three-point range after halftime.

The Billikens, who had set a school record with 29 wins this season, saw their historic run end. Amari McCottry led Saint Louis with 14 points, but Robbie Avila struggled from the field, finishing 3-of-13 including 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Michigan's suffocating defense and transition game proved decisive as the Wolverines prepare for their next matchup in Chicago.
