Georgia women's basketball coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is out after four seasons marked by inconsistency, ending with a 22-10 record and an NCAA Tournament first-round loss to Virginia. The school announced a mutual parting of ways Saturday, with athletic director Josh Brooks confirming a search for her replacement begins immediately.

Abrahamson-Henderson compiled a 69-59 overall record, but only one .500-plus SEC finish in her tenure. Georgia's program peaked under Andy Landers, who retired in 2015 after 36 years and five Final Fours. Abrahamson-Henderson, a former player under Landers, replaced Joni Taylor in 2022 as only the third full-time coach in program history.

Brooks emphasized Georgia's commitment to rebuilding, stating the search will prioritize someone who connects with players and alumni while maintaining the Lady Bulldogs' tradition. The firing follows a season that saw Georgia miss deeper tournament success despite a solid 22-10 record.

Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks called the departure a mutual decision, expressing gratitude for Abrahamson-Henderson's leadership while signaling a fresh start for a program needing stability after Landers' retirement.
