Josh Allen and the rest of Buffalo’s healthy starters will play Saturday in the team’s first game at their new stadium, coach Joe Brady announced. The Browns will start Deshaun Watson in their preseason opener Saturday in Chicago, with Shedeur Sanders taking over for the second game. Aaron Rodgers said he wishes the Steelers’ preseason opener against the Packers were in Green Bay and discussed a possible post-retirement return to Lambeau Field. Meanwhile, Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck will miss Thursday’s preseason game against the Raiders because of a rib injury suffered in the Hall of Fame Game, derailing a rematch with his college teammate.

Roster & Injury Updates

Former Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller agreed to a one-year contract with the Panthers, adding veteran depth to the position room. 49ers receiver Ricky Pearsall completed right knee surgery and faces roughly nine months of recovery before returning to the field. The Steelers re-signed linebacker Elandon Roberts to a one-year deal, bringing back a familiar face. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels informed LSU it can no longer use his name, image and likeness, saying he felt “profoundly disrespected” after the school gave cornerback DJ Pickett his No. 5 jersey.

The Eagles training camp featured a heated fight between defensive tackle Moro Ojomo and offensive tackle Fred Johnson on the 11th day of practice.
