Treasure Trove acquired Joe Montana's Super Bowl XXIV jersey for $1,515,000, setting a new record in NFL collectibles. The previous record was held by a Tom Brady jersey that sold for $1.39 million in November 2023. AJ Scaramucci, CEO of Treasure Trove, believes game-worn memorabilia is undervalued compared to trading cards, citing significant investment opportunities in the market.

The jersey was worn during Montana's final Super Bowl appearance, a 55-10 victory by the San Francisco 49ers over the Cincinnati Bengals in 1990. Montana threw for 297 yards and five touchdowns with a 75.9% completion rate, earning MVP honors.

Montana's Super Bowl jerseys are particularly rare since he played in four Super Bowls but only wore three different jerseys across those games. Scaramucci argues that Montana's perfect Super Bowl record makes the jersey good value, noting that while Tom Brady has more championships, he also experienced Super Bowl losses.

This marks the second time a Montana Super Bowl jersey has broken records, as his Super Bowl XXIII jersey sold for $1.212 million in 2023.
