Great Point Partners-backed VetnCare has acquired Geary Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek, California, for undisclosed terms. Founded in 1979, Geary is led by Dr. Gillian Hamilton and Dr. Erica Weiss, who previously worked at the CDC and completed a residency in laboratory animal medicine, respectively. The practice offers wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, imaging, surgery, dental care and senior pet care.

This marks VetnCare's seventh acquisition since partnering with Great Point Partners and its second under CEO Matt Kirchner. The deal expands VetnCare's presence in the East Bay, adding to a Northern California network offering specialties including oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology and orthopedic surgery. Eddie Hjerpe, principal at Great Point Partners, stated the acquisition strengthens the company's community and seamlessly integrates into the broader ecosystem.

Great Point Partners, founded in 2003 and based in Greenwich, Connecticut, manages approximately $1.7 billion of capital across private funds and a public life sciences equity strategy.
