Mutares has agreed to sell Peugeot Motocycles to the company's management team in a deal expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. The European manufacturer of motorized two and three-wheeler vehicles has been under Mutares' ownership since 2023, when the investment firm acquired a majority stake in the well-known French brand.

Peugeot Motocycles, headquartered in Beaulieu-Mandeure, France, offers a broad portfolio of scooters and motorcycles with a heritage spanning more than a century. Since Mutares' acquisition, the company underwent a comprehensive operational and strategic transformation aimed at strengthening its market positioning, improving efficiency, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth.

The management buyout represents a vote of confidence in Peugeot Motocycles' future under current leadership. Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, stated that the team has developed a clear and compelling plan for the business and demonstrated strong execution capabilities during the investment firm's ownership.
