Mutares has received an irrevocable offer for a controlling stake in Lapeyre Group from an investment vehicle backed by Italian entrepreneurs experienced in home-improvement, furniture and retail sectors. The bidder includes members of the family that owns Bricofer and Conforama Italia. Lapeyre manufactures windows, doors, staircases and kitchen/bathroom furniture, supplying over 115 shops across France.

The company generated €475 million in 2025 and operates nine production sites with approximately 2,000 employees. Mutares will retain a minority stake and continue supporting Lapeyre's turnaround. The German investment firm acquired Lapeyre from Saint-Gobain in 2021 and has been repositioning the business through investments in its industrial footprint, distribution network and support systems.

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, stated the partnership offers opportunities for cooperation in sourcing, logistics and product development while preserving Lapeyre's brand and market position in France. Closing is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to employee representative approval.
