Encore Consumer Capital has hired Caroline Shettle as a director, where she will focus on deal origination, execution and portfolio oversight. Shettle joins from The Riverside Company, where she spent more than 11 years, most recently as a principal. At Riverside, she sat on the boards of several consumer staples manufacturers, including Western Botanicals and Nustef. She previously held roles at Medley Partners and JMP Securities.
“With her track record of building lasting relationships with founders and management teams, she embodies how we like to work with the companies we back,” said Kate Wallman, co-managing partner at Encore. The hire comes as Encore begins deploying Encore Consumer Capital Fund V, which closed in January at $350 million.
The San Francisco-based firm has raised more than $1.4 billion in committed capital and invested in over 40 consumer companies. It backs brand marketing, manufacturing and distribution businesses in the food and beverage, personal care, beauty and pet products sectors. It targets companies with annual revenues of $10 million to $150 million.
