Keensight Capital portfolio company Bedfont Scientific has announced the acquisition of coVita, its exclusive distributor in the US for more than 16 years. The UK-based company specializes in non-invasive breath analysis, and the deal combines Bedfont's technology with coVita's knowledge of the US market and its commercial infrastructure.
Bedfont said the acquisition will strengthen its access to US healthcare networks and clinical research. This applies particularly to its NObreath device, which measures fractional exhaled nitric oxide (Fe NO), a biomarker of airway inflammation used to diagnose and monitor asthma. Based in The Woodlands, Texas, coVita provides technical support, equipment calibration and user support services to allergy and pulmonology networks, respiratory disease practices, outpatient clinics and clinical research organizations.
The founders of coVita will stay involved in the company's development. Keensight, a European growth buyout firm with more than €8 billion in assets under management, bought a majority stake in Bedfont in 2025. The acquisition is part of Bedfont's international development strategy.
"This transaction brings together two complementary areas of expertise and will provide Bedfont with a strong local platform from which to accelerate its development in the US market, particularly in Fe NO and clinical research," said Nicolas Ulrich, partner at Keensight Capital, in a statement.
