Vance Street Capital portfolio company Fumex Air Filtration Systems has acquired Filtrabox by PAT Technology Systems, a founder-owned, Montreal-based designer and manufacturer of air purification systems, for undisclosed terms. Filtrabox management will reinvest a significant portion of their proceeds in the combined business.

Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia, Fumex makes extraction systems that capture hazardous particulate and chemical fumes. Its systems are used across industrial and healthcare applications, including laser cutting, 3D printing, soldering and plastic processing. The combined business will serve customers across North America and Europe.

“The combination broadens Fumex’s product offering and geographic reach, creating a strong foundation for continued growth,” said Grady Miller, a partner at Vance Street. Yousaf Tahir, a principal at Vance Street, said partnering with entrepreneur-owned businesses in sectors like filtration reflects its strategy. Vance Street is a mid-market private equity firm investing in engineered products across industrial technology, medical, life science, aerospace and defense.

Winston Taylor acted as legal adviser to Vance Street, and Fidus Capital provided debt financing for the transaction.
